Biography




CEO and Founding Partner

With almost 22 years of professional experience in the public sector, he is a worldwide recognized expert in trade negotiations, international trade, regional economic integration, and foreign relations.

In Mexico’s Ministry of Economy, he held several important positions; including Director General for North America, where he oversaw the successful implementation of NAFTA provisions in Mexico; Deputy Chief Negotiator of Mexico for the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), Chief of Staff to the Minister of Economy and Undersecretary of Foreign Trade.

As Undersecretary of Foreign Trade, he led Mexico’s trade agenda during complex negotiations process as the modernization of the Mexico-United States-Canada Treaty (USMCA, formerly NAFTA) and the Free Trade Agreement between Mexico and the European Union (EU-Mexico) as well as the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership Treaty (CPTPP), among others.

At the multilateral level, he represented Mexico at different regional and multilateral organizations, such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Group of 20 (G20) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC).

He holds a degree in International Trade from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) and has undertaken advanced studies in Political Economy at the University of Warwick, in England.
